Full description
  • Why Cheorwon?
    Most DMZ tours stop at Paju. This one goes deeper.
    Cheorwon is where the Korean War burned the hottest — a former city swallowed by the conflict, still frozen in time near the Military Demarcation Line. Visiting here isn't just sightseeing. It's standing at the edge of one of the world's last remaining Cold War frontlines, in a place few travelers ever reach.
    We keep our groups small on purpose. A smaller group means better access, more meaningful conversation with your guide, and a pace that lets the weight of this place actually land.

    What You'll Experience
    * Cheorwon DMZ — The 2nd Infiltration Tunnel & Observation Deck
    Descend into the 2nd Tunnel — secretly dug by North Korea through solid granite beneath the DMZ, discovered in 1975. Walk through the rock knowing it was engineered for invasion. Then rise to the observation deck for an unobstructed view into North Korea: the villages, the mountains, the silence. No crowds, no theme park atmosphere. Just history, up close.
    * Lunch — Healthy Korean Vegetable Bibimbap
    After the intensity of the morning, we sit down together for a wholesome Korean meal. A colorful vegetable bibimbap made with seasonal local produce — naturally plant-based, nourishing, and delicious. A perfect choice for vegans and vegetarians, and anyone who simply wants to eat well.
    * Han-tan River Y-Bridge (Suspension Bridge)
    The final stop is pure spectacle. The Y-shaped suspension bridge spans 410 meters across the Han-tan River gorge — the longest of its kind in Korea. Walk the three-armed span as it sways beneath your feet, with the deep gorge and river spread out below. A stunning counterpoint to the solemnity of the morning.

    I'm glad I picked this trip, it is unique to the others. We went to tunnel 2, there were no crowds, the other tourists were all South Korean. Transport was a soccer mum mini van. Sam is a really good guide, he had lots of information on the war, and answered all our questions. He is laid back and has a good sense of humour. Five stars!

    Our day trip was outstanding, and our guide, Andrew, was excellent. He provided a very thorough and customized experience that benefited each family member. Because of Andrew, we had a phenomenal experience that gave us a personal appreciation not only of the subject of our tour, but also of Korea, its people, and its culture. Thank you, Andrew, for a very unique and memorable experience!
